What is Cal-SOAP?

Cal-SOAP stands for the California Student Opportunity Access Program. It is a college access program, which means that we work to increase the college-going rate of our service area. All Cal-SOAP services are free to our partners and participants.
 

What is Santa Barbara Cal-SOAPs Service Area?

Santa Barbara Cal-SOAP serves the cities of Santa Barbara, Goleta and Carpinteria.

 

Who does Cal-SOAP serve?

Cal-SOAP serves 7th to 12th grade students in Santa Barbara, Goleta and Carpinteria. Intensive services are directed towards 1st-generation college-bound and low-income students.

 

Where are Cal-SOAP services provided?

Cal-SOAP services are provided at 22 sites in our service site. Click here for more info.

 

How is Cal-SOAP funded?

Cal-SOAP is funded through the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) as part of their outreach services.

 

Are Cal-SOAP services year-round?

Yes, there are  more services offered during the regular school year than in the summer.

 

How does Cal-SOAP hire tutors?
